Come on Ely, we can't let Sheila get all the sympathy that we are due.... We have fire, drought conditions, stink bugs, mad cow, we actually had our first case of human west nile, hmmm what else what else..... okay here - we have CHER feeling sorry for us.... isn't that enough !!!!! The queen for the drag queens is raising money for us.... does who we have for government help us in this pity party.....

Hmmmm...well, I'm not sure that OUR government is all that keen to help us with much of anything either, but as for Mad Cow???...Janet and I just had dinner together...GREAT STEAK!! Yummmm...(does that make me "mad"? Maybe! LOL!) Mad Cow...I laugh in your face! I'm too much of a carnivore to worry about that!!! (also a very nice red wine...not sure if Okanagan or not...I'll check!).
But, OK...you win! Cher??!!! 'nough said! (Seriously though...I thought it was a very nice gesture on her part...she didn't HAVE to do ONE THING about it...if people are negative about it, that's their problem...end of rant!).
Would a care package of industrial strength fly swatters help??! LOL!? (Bad joke maybe, but I do have the best intentions!).
Sheila!

People are upset just cuz they know they want her plastic surgeon.... Gotta run and pick up little one... hmmm but some mad cow for dinner sounds good, think I'll stop and pick some up..... but I have suffered ( ah sigh sob) so I'll be missing the wine tonight and going for the harder stuff - bring on the gin and tonic. G'Nite ladies !!!!!

Sorry Ozzy for not helping you against Sheilalady, but busy chasing out of our neighbours yard a small black bear. Top that Sheilalady, any bears wandering around in your neighbourhoods, oh yeah, let me rephrase that to be " any small hairy bear related to Gentle Ben type" But what you do have that we don't is fireflies, so the plan is for every 10 fireflies you send us, we send 1000 of the cutest little pets that you cant find in any pet store in Ontario. They are not as bad as Ozzy says about the smell, don't know what she's talking about!!

I've enjoyed reading about your stink bugs, Ozzy! (And glad that Sheilalady asked what they are.) Thanks for a little levity in this situation.

ELY... You're sorry for not helping "AGAINST" Sheilalady? ?? I have been as supportive as I can possibly be through several threads here. I live in Ontario (born here and PROUD of it...roots in the west...family in KELOWNA), and until I revealed that fact in this thread, my comments (and encouragement) seemed to be accepted and welcomed...I have disclosed my location in several posts on several threads. What do black bears have to do with an innocent question about stink bugs? How do you make that connection? Do you honestly think that bears exist ONLY in Kelowna? Have you ever been east of the Great Divide? Ah-ha...I didn't think so. FYI...we have bears in Ontario...yes they are the very same black bears that you chide me about...another FYI...I lived in Alberta, and you wanna see a f*#k'n bear?...try a grizzly. Been there...done THAT. Gentle Ben?...go back to Nick at Nite...LOL!. My friend...please don't be someone who's looking for an argument...'cause frankly, I'm not interested. I've seen too many provocatative messages on this board. I entered into this with the best of intentions, and you may have misinterpreted my posts. I hope that is the case...if not, then you will not see me again. As far as the exchange goes...Could/would a bat eat a stink bug? I am not joking about the rabid bat in my yard. Unlike foxes and raccoons, bats are insectivores and can't be baited like the aforementioned critters. As bats live in colonies, and a rabid one was discovered so close to my home, I could only think that there were more around. If a stink bug is that big, would it be possible to inject a rabies vacine in one? (LOL Maybe!). If so then we'll consider it. (Hel-oooo...JOKE!?!?!) Otherwise, I'd try and take advantage of their size and helicopter qualities, attach a 500 gallon bucket to them and put them all to bloody WORK on the fire!!! TOTALLY JOKING HERE ALL THE WAY ROUND! No stink bugs through Fed-ex, PLEASE!!! LOL! Sheila

Sorry all, if I sounded nasty in the last post...I guess I'm just a bit sensitive about the "east thing" (seen THAT backfire before!) and the fact that I've seen so many well intentioned thoughts get shot down on this board (on OTHER threads).
I'm grateful for the chance to listen in, and to talk with all of you. Your opinions mean a lot to me.
It's past my bedtime here in the EAST (!!!) so I'll see y'all tomorrow!
Night night!
Sheila!

Sheila
Sorry, I was not looking for an arguement with you in any way, just added the bear bit to add to the above reply.
Yes I have, have toured with theatre groups from coast to coast. And yes I know that there are bears in Ontario, we have a cabin on Nidrie Lake which is 10 miles in from Red Lake junction on the train line. The bear bit was meant as a joke, along with the bugs, mad cow, sars and whatever else has been in this thread. Anyways glad to have you joining us all, please don't leave us !

Thanks for the clarification Ely! I hope that you'll accept my apologies as well!
I wouldn't leave...Imagine the chance to get to know people at their best and at their worst with out ever even meeting them. I'm finding this whole thing far to intriguing to split. All of your stories are affecting me in one way or another. Don't stop writing...ALL of you...your stories are inspiring!
Once again, and VERY late (for me!)...
Night night,
Sheila!
