I want to send out a special thanks to all the army personnel that have been taken away from their families yet again. Many after being away doing missions in Bosnia and Afghanistan in the past year.
These men and women dedicate their lives to doing whatever they are ordered to do and are always there when Canada needs them...ie. Ice storms, Floods, fires.
I was very disturbed to hear that "some" of the locals have not been receiving them very well in Kelowna.
These people deserve your respect because they stand up and fight for us everyday and they put their lives on the line in more ways then one.
I hope that the negative trend towards these military members does not continue. There might come a day where we ask these people to do much more than fight a fire for us.
Thanks and god Bless our Men and Women in uniform.

I find that very ridiculous, not only are they trying to save you and your possessions right now, but there are currently thousands of Soldiers deployed overseas not only in Afgahnistan and Iraq, but all over the middle east, Africa, South America and Eastern Europe/Western Asia. They are there to make sure the world is a peaceful place. Might I remind some people, Canada is not a War craving country, we are mainly peacekeepers, and mostly help in rebuilding torn countries. So were people get off not wanting the nice, helpful soldiers, who leave their homes and families, and come to someplace they have never been before(be it Afghanistan or Kelowna) to help people they have never met. I think they are dumb!

Thank's is the least we can say to the hard working young soldiers that put at risk their lives every day to support our country.How much did these young soldier's make a day fighting next to firefighter's making overtime wages at fifty buck's an hour?The increase of military personnel from 800 to over1200 at one point beg's the question.MONEY have anything to do with the cheap labour the military provided on the line?. They fought the same monster in the hill's. Mr. Firefighter should share some of the respect and hero status with the cheap labour.More respect and honor should be given to those who did not recieve big monetary gains for the same life- threatning situation's. THANK'S TO THE MILITARY;;;
