Singer/songwriters are the ones that put their "Food For Thought" to music from the Protest songs of a Phil Ochs e.g. "I'm not marching any more" to the dreamy tunes of "The Moody Blues e.g. "Tuesday Afternoon" or the bitter lament & protest of Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) e.g. "When The Tigers Broke Free" or Canada's own Neil Young's "Ohio" remember the words "four dead in Ohio". Then there was counter protests such as "Sweet Home Alabama".
Then again there is the master of the Murder Ballads - Australia's own Nick Cave e.g. the "Eliza Day" song re "They call me the wild rose, but my name was Eliza Day".
Of the many, I like the images of the Phil Ochs: "No More Songs" such as "A ghost without a name stands ragged in the rain..."
