Did anyone else hear about the study conducted that reports on pot usage in BC?
Interesting that use has doubled.
Also interesting that the more money you have, and the more education you have, the more likely you are to smoke pot!
Has anyone seen an actual copy of the study? Would like to look at in more detail.

I love the wording of the poll answers today on castanet. The question is do you smoke pot. One of the answers, along with yes, no, tried it etc., is " can not remember."
That cracks me up!

When you can't remember, I think that's a sign you've smoked TOO MUCH pot ... lol.

Soft Approach To Cannabis Said Working In The UK Black Britain.co.uk 11-26-4 The reclassification of cannabis from a class B to a class C drug has been as openly welcomed as it has been vilified. The MPA says it has saved thousands of hours and over £400,000 since cannabis was downgraded in January. At a Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA) meeting yesterday, the general consensus was that this move had been a positive one. Reshard Auladin, Deputy Chair of the MPA said, "Most violent crimes in the capital are linked to alcohol. I have never seen an incident where an assault has been linked to cannabis. A fortune is spent bringing people to court and then they can be fined as little as £25. However, Len Duvall, the MPA's Chair insisted that cannabis trafficking, or instances where the drug is used in front of children would still be treated seriously. Recent figures show that since cannabis was reclassified in January, cautions for possession have gone up by just over a third, while arrests have gone down by over half since 2003. www.blackbritain.co.uk/news/details.aspx?i=1025&c=uk&h=MPA+says+soft+approach+to+cannabis+is+working

My son is in high school and informs us during our many discussions on the matter that, during lunch break you can pick up a pepsi and sandwich for lunch inside a local covenience store.Outside the store you can buy your pot and head back to school for the afternoon.Sound's like a balanced lunch . LOL. Pot is so easily accesable in the school system does anybody really care? it seems not.

I see the redundant question of ‘Does anybody really care?’ presenting its self again, of course that is what redundancies do but as far as sparking a response here we see little of that.
It seems to me where the caring goes is only to those directly involved, no matter what side of the coin the caring occurs.
I have ask the question often myself and all I have been able to truthfully ascertain is that perhaps the idea behind the question is flawed. Of course ‘somebody’ cares! Is that somebody caring in a similar fashion as the question askers? Some may, some may not, so what!
It is the ‘so what factor’ that piques my curiosity. The ‘so what factor’ may apply to those who are chock-a-block full of their concerns and so there is no overlap of concern.
As one who is big picture and global in perspective it all concerns me and there is little I can do about the focused issues others bring to the fore, except to repeatedly point out the observation attributed to Einstein and paraphrase by me, “ We can’t use the same kind of thinking to solve a problem that brought the problem to us in the first place.”
