and man did it bring up alot of BAD memories....things I would rather put behind us now. On the down side as well I got to see my uncles house in Barriere....well what was left of it.....I know mom and dad had it taped it as they are not ready to watch it yet...she called me crying as she didn't know how to tape it as she had no VCR so I called a family friend who said she would for us....Thank goodness for friends.......
Hope this Thanksgiving weekend you give thanks for ALL you have....even if it is for just being alive...we sponsored a family who couldn't afford a turkey dinner...delivered it this afternoon...talk about hugs...and love....That in itself made the whole weekend......
Hope it is as special to you guys as it will be for us with family and friends around us and we still have a long road ahead of us but we have our health and our familes who are the pillar of strenghth.....

mphouse you sound like a caring wonderfull person.Very sorry for your family's suffering.Maybe things will move on and the future will be brighter, HOPE is all some people have.I was touched by your great sense of generosity in that you gave away a turkey without expecting anything in return. Our family has had a bad year financialy and we were unable to have a thank'sgiving dinner this year.We had a spagetti dinner instead of turkey, luckil'y my son understood the circumstances and we ate what we could afford. The future is uncertain for many of us unemployeed people of the okanagan.Keep the faith and God- Bless those that have and care you are One. and thank you for the compliment...not necessary though..we do it at christmas too...it is something...we can do. My Dad and his wife have every year an orphan's Thanksgiving AND Christmas...all the people they know who can't afford or have no one to celebrate with are invited over for dinner and stuff. I am lucky to have an extended family who help us out as well when we need help...so in some small way I like being able to do it when I can too....no praise needed or wanted...just that is who we are...we help when we can as we have been shown ALOT of support when we needed it most as well when Western star shut down(DH work was one of their suppliers companies here in town) with 4 kids it can be difficult....If I had of known my mom gave one away too...I would loved to have given it too you...HUGS....Keep your chin up...tough times make us stronger....and NEVER give up...
