is not a very smart idea, i can understand it on peoples lawns and bulavards and maybe to put distance between forest and homes but anything past that is playing god i think. for starters nature has been dealing with fire since the start, if you start planting seeds of anything what kind of an impact is that going to have on the enviroment and the balance of nature. you plant a type of grass where it wasn't before you then help choke out what ever was growing there before and create an imbalance of unknown proportions. any ways its a bad idea.

I agree. Nature should be left alone to take it's course as it has for many centuries. Afterall, this was a NATURAL disaster and the recovery should be natural as well.

a wild grass seed that is native to our area. Mom and dad's lot has been one of them that they came and talked to today about spray seeding their upper hill to help with erosion issues once they figure out the stability of the hillside. The natural habitat will then take over and not be choked out by this we are told as it is a natural grass. I think it is one way of dealing with the erosion issues that are being presented now.
