Why don't we start a new thread of jobs available, or people looking for employment. If anyone has any job leads, they can post them and anyone who needs employment can list their qualifications, etc. One thing I have learned about getting jobs in the Okanagan, is that, it's not what you know, it's who you know. Net-working can be a great asset to finding employment.

Sounds like a good idea the job list thing I work on the road all up and down the valley and sometimes you hear companies looking for new hires. Like you say in this valley it''s who you know not what you know. I would be into passing on some leads when they come my way
I have a M.B.A. which in the Okanagan means
Means Bugger All

There is now an office in Kelowna and my sister has a job interview there on Monday....I know you are not competing for the same position so I can in all good concience(sp) post this to help you out.... www.geotivity.net/careers.htmThat is the link to the company and you can fax your resume in...they called her immediately. They had postings on the job bank with the info too...it is legit. Sissy drove by and it looks good....she goes for the interview on Monday....The main page tells you what it is all about and where they have all their offices...looks like the are only just starting to touch Canada.....get in on the ground floor girl.... Good Luck

Please be careful with the GeoTivity company. I also had an interview, and a second interview with them, thinking they were this great opportunity.
I was told in my interview that I would be expected to work 16 hour days, be sexually harassed daily, and the owner of the company actually yelled at me, telling me he thought I was lying and hiding something from him.
The employee turnover is outrageous because they push too hard, and treat their employees like garbage.
I'm not saying someone can't make it at that company, but I'd just be careful.
