Sitting here so far away from everything, I have no other way to be able to show my appreciation to all of you, the fire fighters, who have been risking your lives to keep all of my family and friends safe. I cannot fathom what your experiences must be like, or the exhaustion that you must feel, but the fact that no one has lost their life, and with so few homes lost, your professionalism is evident and so very appreciated! I may not be in Kelowna, but all of my memories of growing up there keeps my heart there, and so proud of you and the work you have done!
Your perseverance and dedication is obvious to us, even though we aren't there! I watch you on the internet constantly, to the point that my 2 little boys now want to be fire fighters - just like you!
Please accept this note as my thanks for keeping the people I care about safe! I can only hope you are repaid a thousand times over because you deserve it!

I could not have said it better!
But I will add that you and the millitary are phenominal, outstanding, heroic, selfless, courageous among many many other things
Take great pride in EVERY SINGLE house that was saved and know that the public realises that you wanted to be able to fight this dragon fire and save them all. Beyond property, you have worked to save lives! We are so very very grateful.

I don't think I can add a single word to what has been said. I can't be more proud of my home town. I always knew it was a great place, and now there is proof of that. On the news I saw a firefighter talking about the fire and when he started talking about loosing the houses he got all choked up. To that fireman...we all know that you did the best you can and unfortunately the fire won that battle. Please DO NOT feel badly that you couldn't save all the houses. It is quit a feat to save what you did. That fire could have taken out every house in that area.
God Bless from the Vellacott and Heidrick Family in Calgary.
I will be heading to Kelowna on Thursday with tons of teddy bears and clothes to donate. Thanks to everyone who donated items. I am sure they will be happily received.
