We have lost awareness to the abuse to animals with all the buracracy that exsist in our society. People don't want to see that we are animals to but we have laws to protect children and other abuses but when it comes to animals we only step in when it is too late. Thank you to C.Ewen for trying to do the right thing eventhough it falls on deaf ears. casinobabe :'(TEXT

Humans are not animals - we are humans. One cannot place the same value on the life of any animal as one places on a human. Maybe your terminology got a little scewed - we are both 'mamals' - but people are people and not animals.

Humans are not animals - we are humans. One cannot place the same value on the life of any animal as one places on a human. Maybe your terminology got a little scewed - we are both 'mamals' - but people are people and not animals. ******************************************* As a young boy my father caught me throw rocks at the chickens, after a stern lecture he told me:never ever inflict pain to a animal, big or small it feels the pain as much as you and I do. Of course humans are no animals. (but sometimes humans behave a lot worse than animals, with their LUST for killing other humans)Slowly people beginig to catch on what some animals raised for slaughter have to endure untill the last seconds of their lives,it would be well worth for "animalrights"groups to look into slaughterhouses as well as to adress:butchering for religious reasons, sometimes ago I saw pictures of "kosher killing" all I can say that it made me "SICK",the pictures where shot in the UK and stated the poor animals suffered up to 50min until dead they went totaly insane with pain. If this is tolerated here in Canada by god it would be outrageous!! I know in some countries it is"outlawed". So SPCA and animalrights groups:help to protect animals from some of the "bad "humans, thank you.

I find that attitude odd in many fashions, more than can be recounted by hindsight. The only difference in us from "animals" is our will to defy nature. "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet". As such although we are different that is all, no better, no worse. Actually probably worse in my opinion, in the words of a man I knew "You can find more sympathy in the eyes of a dog, than in the eyes of a human". Although difference creates arrogance, despite what you would think, we are an animals, defying the natural. Abuse to animals is somewhat funny however, we abuse different races and beliefs in our own species much worse. Although "god" may be used to argue that we are not animals, this is not steadfast, "god" in stories uses "doves" and other such animals, to portray "angels", or his messangers, this alone would put man lower than such "animals".. However this is merely meandering thought.. Probably not worth writing for others to see... However this is what I believe!

I believe that people who send nasty letters etc to Castanet and/or the local papers about the SPCA should spend a few weeks or a month donating time there to prove to themselves that the SPCA is really as bad as they say or discover the truth that these people have a great love for animals but are run off their feet careing for the animals and dealing with the problems people are creating for them. The SPCA is very underfunded and have a hard time finding staff to help out as well as the funds to feed the animals, pay the bills etc, but they do it. I know about a recent problem a local lady created for them, saying that they allowed a local dog to be returned to an abusive owner without even looking into what actually happened. They were informed about a situation where a dog owner was abusive to the animal so they had the dog examined by a veterinarian for any signs of abuse as well as interviewed this persons' neighbors. They were told by the Vet that the dog was in perfect health and there were absolutely no signs of abuse, and the neighbors told them that they had never witnessed any abuse to this dog by anyone. So their hands were legally tied by the lack of evidence, so they returned the dog. If they had kept the dog from it's owner, the owner could have sued the SPCA for lack of evidence and won. So come on people, open your eyes and ears before you condemn these people, go and visit the SPCA and speak to them about any problems or issues you have and you'll see just how caring these people really are, and you'll also find out how their hands are tied by laws and bureaucracy and locals who think they are helping without looking for the truth before they act or speak. And for those of you who don't know it, the SPCA is a non profit organization that isn't funded by anyone except by those of us who donate cash, time and food. They need our help, so drop in or call them to find out what they need the most at that time.
