The Westside is reviewing it's position regarding it's form of governance. Some feel the Westside should incorporate as a separate municipality while others feel it should be amalgamated with Kelowna. Others feel the area should e split with the Lakeview and Westside Estates areas merging with Kelowna letting Westbank go it alone. The only way people can decide is to debate the issues, review the data, and make an informed decision - if allowed. It's going to be the next fiery issue in the valley. Something that will affect everyone from Lake Country to Peachland. Watch as the Westside Governance Restructure Study changes the valley.

Shiva our family root's have allway's been in Rutland.We alway's considered ourselves seperate entities from Kelowna.As a community we are still Rutland people even though we were taken in with Lake Country years ago.You can still retain pride in your community and will allway's be proud westsider's to your credit.Advantages to joining Kelowna in name only are massive.Policing, Fireprotection, roadmaintenance and money's from Kelowna Council have greatly improved Rutlands quality of life for us.MONEY for services is the big advantage to joining more taxpayer's.Good Luck with your voting the majority will rule as it should."Westsiders" will allway's retain their sense of pride as us Rutlandites do. Kelowna can help pay the bills for a simple name change. WIN-WIN situation All the Best from our nest;;;;;

As a community we are still Rutland people even though we were taken in with Lake Country years ago. What?!! When did Lake Country take in Rutland? I think you eman't Kelowna - right? Is thst "sheera" as In He-mans girlfriend? As for the Westside. The Westside has the second largest track of industrial land use in the district. $$$$/s and is the largest by populated unincorporated area in BC For some reason, incorporation proponents think that means something. That political rhetoric aside, whatever the Westside decides awill have a effect on the whole valley. Especially if it amalgamates with Kelowna.

no no, thats 'She-ra"
Actually I think they are sister and brother... which would mean... ... ... okay, forget i said that >_<
okay, enough irralivant material right now, as for my opinion - Westside has its own little community anyways, being apart of kelowna or not. really, i have asked some of westbanks citizens and i always get a mixed answer if Westbank is part of Kelowna or not. I really don't think it makes much of difference... you can name a cat a dog and it will still be a cat, and i doubt the cat will ever know - or care.
