Americans without permanent resident cards are not allowed to re-enter the country and have to adhere to very strict rules about leaving. Why should our rules be any less restrictive? If you don't have your card, stay home! If you don't consider Canada your home, leave!

:)maggieandfloyd, I agree with you 100% but then again I never travel or pass through the US anyway; "if" I was able to afford a vacation,Europe or South America would be my only choice.

The Residency Cards are a good idea , but of course the Gov't being what it is, it is taking too long to issue the cards. If your plans were made before the idea came up to issue cards, then a priority system should have been set. If you made plans to travel after the the order to have residency cards was issued and before you received your card....then you are a fool. You know how fast this Gov't works.
