I am writing from the Sunshine Coast area and have a friend who literally moved up to Big White two days ago. Just wondering if anyone has any idea if there is any risk posed to that area from this large fire.
My condolences to those who have lost homes.........as I read in other threads. Kind of a helpless feeling watching this unfold from here. Thank you to Castanet for excellent breaking coverage.
Thanks, Mike.

It's not that close, but they have evacuated up to McCullough Lake. That would be about a 30 Minute drive from big white...

At 8:46 pm Friday, the skies are clear at Big White, but with the way the fire is moving, it's wise to be prepared and stay on castanet.com or Silk FM 101.
If the fire should move up Hwy 33, then, best route out is south towards Rock Creek, but again, last minute information is crucial.
We're praying for everyone in the city - safety first, "stuff" second. It's a good time to reach out to God right now and find peace despite the circumstances...
