My family has a cabin 1 mile south of Chute Lake is there any way to find out if cabins in that area are still standing?

My guess is that cabins will be completely secondary to main residences. Without driving and looking at it, after the fire is over, you will never know. Have a look at the Fire Map www.silk.fm/silk/firefiles/FIRECTY1.PDFYou should find Chute Lake on here. I think it is pretty far away right now...

You could have a look at the latest fire maps on the website and see how close the fire was to the cabin at 4 thjis morning. From What I can see from the Naramata end there has not been a whole lot of new movement our way which is to the south - the past 24 hours. Unfortunately that could change if the wind - which has been blowing from the south should change direction. Good luck!
