I just went outside to let Niles, my Jack Russel pup out for a pee (he comes to work with me) and noticed that the wind is bad and blowing in the wrong direction. Just waiting to hear from a neighbour to see whats happening on the hill. THANK GOD for the cold and damp weather we have had over the last two days though, otherwise I think we would be seeing an all new level of fire storm. Its dropping to 4 degrees out at our place at night, and the ground is heavy with dew in the mornings, I am hoping and praying thats enough to keep the beast at bay.

Hey everyone, I live up on Huckleberry Road and the wind is gusting pretty good up here at the 1100 meter mark. I don't see any huge plumes of smoke, yet? Yeah, the wind is coming SW which is bad news for us in the Joe Rich area.

I live in Peachland and when I look across the lake I can see a lot of dust blowing from the burnt area,,believe it or not.. I imagine the fiber is burnt out of the soil,, hence wind erosion.. It is a very light sandy colour,,so I would think it is soil .. Robert James

Just got word from my neighbour ---- it is very very windy out up there, but no concern, no smoke, no fire. And as she was typing me a fire truck and man came to her door, apparently Emergency Aid is having them help residence take off their gel in a safe manner... the fireman told her they still don't know why that area was saved, by all accounts it should have gone up. But he also said that they feel we are 100% safe now, and that the alert will probably be taken off in a couple of days. YEAH !!!!!!

That's great news. It's windy and raining up the hill here. I would love to bring my horses and goats home on the Weekend. They've been by the airport now for almost 3 weeks. Yeah!
