A string of one-liners may not have the substance of a long message but if used in a creative way on threads with a series of long messages they act as an important and timely break in the action.
To use the boxing match idea. The one-minute break in the action is necessary for the boxers, but is also important for the audience.
The audience may chat about the previous round of action and contemplate what will happen next.
So in conclusion, the one liner is a useful break for the lister and a pause for the reader.

The following is a one-liner from the IMPORTANT ISSUES thread re. Job List & a trip to the trophy room.
"One option is to move to Vancouver. This could be your Passport to Paradise or a one way ticket to Never Never Land.

HELLO!, Princess & Kelowna are you now the "no-no team".
There are many issue to explore to question "negative nanny" and her "no point sidekick". No-point is promoting jobs lists, but does he have the attitude and communication skills to score a winning goal.

Banal - a feudal summons. Banalities - thus, would be the voices of the common people.
To cut away the voice of the common man/woman is to promote elitism. Since when did our most active poster become an elitist or is this just another shell game.

I said I quit reading this thread quite a while ago ... it's gone from stupid one line quotes to even more ridiculous nonsense ... and for your information I read quite a few threads on this site, I've just given up on this particular thread ...
That's all you'll read from me ...

My point was that it was a trivial thread to begin with, but why feel the need to brerate those that may have similar views.

It has been quite a few years since I served as a boxing referee using those common words - stop - box - break - so I will not try to referee the debate or disputes over this thread,
However, I welcome at least one more message from all concerning this thread - Is it thumbs up or thumbs down.
I'll start with my obvious "thumbs up" for the Message icon

As an afterthought, those persons that have messages on the thread that agree that the thread should be deleted should start by deleting their own messages. Therefore, I,m changing my vote

While reading a piece by Leroy Paige on "How To stay Young one of his six points was interesting. ("Satchel" Paige - in 1948 became the first African American pitcher in baseball history when he joined the team in Cleveland)
One of his points: "Go very lightly in the vices, such as carrying on in society. The social ramble ain't restful".
