Although I am stuck in the safe confines of Victoria, nine of my relatives are stuck in KELOWNA. Two of them were part of the 30,000 plus that had to flee their homes from the path of or threat from the inferno.
At this time, I would like to thank some of the folks that have sent to me e-mails offering their concerns and prayers. A sample, from persons that okayed the use of their names include:
Freda and Ted from California, "Brian, please send our deepest concerns.....and all the others who have lost so much. Our hearts ache for them."
Alan, from Arizona
"Your family and other residents certainly have my prayers with them..."

A HUGE thank you to those that stayed in their home to report any fires in the area & confront those pieces of crap that the media calls looters away from their areas.

I am personally going to send an email to (one of?) Cher's official websites as well as thanking the emergency officials and volunteers. I'm not sure how much half the box office proceeds are at GM Place that she handed over, but I'm sure it's in the tens of thousands. Not all celebrities use their powers for good, and as far as I'm concerned, she is helping set a great example for others in the limelight.

To: Brian & Dorothy (Victoria) From: Rose O. (Co. Cork, Ireland)
"I hope Maureen and Vern are safe and well. They will be in our thoughts and prayers."
From: Brian Although the above message is focused on just two of the many that had to flee their homes, our thoughts are with all the folks that had to leave their homes. Also, our strength and courage is with the professionals and volunteers that fight the fires and provide the services to all the people. In the days ahead, it will be time to provide real aid and comfort to those that lost their homes.
In closing, I am pleased that persons from as far as Queensland. Australia have taken the time to send me an e-mail of support to the people of Kelowna and the other areas of British Columbia,

Unless one has experienced firefighting, it is impossible to understand the dangers and the risks. Therefore, I am pleased to receive the following E-MAIL from PERTH, AUSTRALIA.
Mike, Melanie & Lauryn: Mike writes, "We are from Glen Forrest, Perth, Western Australia. I, myself have been a volunteer Fire Fighter for a number of years now and have fought two of this states biggest recorded fires."
"GOOD LUCK TO THEM ALL!"
